Sealing surfaces

Sealing surfaces

Untreated spray coatings have a microporous structure. Specifications often require the sealing of these pores. For this purpose special sealants are injected into pores. However, the sealants do not harden on the surface and after a set period of time the sealing will require renewal.

Surface sealing is used primarily for:

  • Improved corrosion protection
  • Hydrophobic surfaces
  • Acid and alkali resistant surfaces
  • Surfaces for food-safe applications
  • Improvement of electrical insulation coatings
