Sealing surfaces
Untreated spray coatings have a microporous structure. Specifications often require the sealing of these pores. For this purpose special sealants are injected into pores. However, the sealants do not harden on the surface and after a set period of time the sealing will require renewal.
Surface sealing is used primarily for:
- Improved corrosion protection
- Hydrophobic surfaces
- Acid and alkali resistant surfaces
- Surfaces for food-safe applications
- Improvement of electrical insulation coatings
